Description
🥁 Beogradska Nahija Belgrade nahija was one of the 12 nahijas of Sanjak of Smederevo. It was named after Belgrade, the capital of Karađorđe's Serbia and the Serbian Despotate, last medieval Serbian state. During the First Serbian Uprising, the nahija was one of the main places to liberate. After Belgrade was liberated in 1806, the capital was moved there. In 1808, a military reform began in Belgrade and first regular infantry units were formed there.
