Description
This group was created to raise awareness of Osteogenesis Imperfecta, or "Brittle Bone Disease, on ROBLOX. OI is an extremely rare genetic disorder in which the one suffering from it may have brittle (easily broken) bones. There are several types of this disorder that one can be born with. Some types are not severe: people who can walk and get around without a problem. Others can be severe: people who cannot walk and experience hundreds (not an exaggeration) of broken bones in there lifetime. Some babies who are born with the most severe type do not live past a week to a couple of months. People who have OI have a blue sclera (white part of their eye) and a triangular shape of their head. They can also have a barrel-shaped ribcage, curved limbs, scoliosis, and a short stature. A cure is not yet found for OI, but there is a treatment. Pamidronate is an infusion given to the patient to make their bones a little stronger. Despite the hardships, people who have it are wonderful people!
