Jägermeister is a German 70-proof digestif made with 56 herbs and spices. It is the flagship product of Mast-Jägermeister SE, headquartered in Wolfenbüttel, south of Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany. Curt Mast, the original distiller of Jägermeister, was an enthusiastic hunter. The name Jägermeister literally means "master of hunters" in German. The word is an official government title for a high-ranking officer in charge of matters related to hunting.
