[INFORMATION] The CIA’s Special Activities Center (SAC) is one of the most secretive parts of the U.S. intelligence world, often described as the “third option” when diplomacy and open military force are off the table. Publicly available information about it is limited and carefully controlled. The CIA's Special Activities Center (SAC), formerly the Special Activities Division (SAD), is the agency's clandestine paramilitary and covert action arm, responsible for "special activities" like direct action, unconventional warfare, and political influence, operating under the motto "Tertia Optio" (Third Option) when military force isn't suitable or diplomacy fails. SAC is comprised of the Special Operations Group (SOG) for paramilitary missions (direct action, raids, sabotage)
