Description
Established in 1978, the LRVFD is an agency staffed entirely by volunteers that provides fire suppression, community first response, and rescue services to the town of Lightning Ridge and its rural surroundings. It currently operates 5 apparatus out of Station 90, located on the town's Main Street, and services the coastal township of Lightning Ridge as well as the surrounding rural communities. As a volunteer department, we have no full-time or paid staff. When a call comes in our volunteers are paged and respond to the station where they grab their gear and trucks to attend the incident.
