Description
Welcome to Tanfield Railway – the world’s oldest railway! This line dates back to 1725, making it nearly 300 years old. What started as an industrial wagonway for coal has become a living museum of steam, history, and engineering. Who We Are We’re a volunteer-run heritage railway. Everything you see here – from the locomotives to the stations – is cared for by people who love railways and want to share this history with others. Our mission is to keep steam alive and to tell the story of the railway that helped shape the North East. Highlights to Share The Journey – Our trains run from Andrews House down to Sunny Side , giving you a real sense of what it was like when steam power ruled. The Locomotives – Every steam engine here is lovingly restored and maintained by volunteers in our workshops. The discord - Feel free to join link is attached! Game status: - Still in development -
