Description
GREAT GORYEON Before unification, the land known as Goryeon was fractured into independent territories, each governed by hereditary houses, city councils, merchant guilds, or self-proclaimed warlords. While these factions shared a common language and deep-rooted traditions, centuries of rivalry and distrust kept the land politically divided and stagnant. The absence of central leadership made Goryeon vulnerable to internal strife, famine, and intellectual decay. Knowledge was hoarded, roads were dangerous, and innovation slowed as disputes over trade, faith, and lineage consumed the political landscape. Under the guise of the Young Officers, Goryeon was unified under the Republic of Goryeon which had a quasimonarchy system proposed via a inheriting system of leadership unless relinquished by its holder.
