Freeform #10731302
Description
🌐☈✰ Freeform hardcore, also known as simply freeform, is a substyle of electronic music which heavily draws elements from trance and hardcore. Freeform began developing in the mid-1990s in parallel with the happy hardcore and UK hardcore scenes. In contrast to happy hardcore, freeform productions tend to be more instrumental-oriented while incorporating straight 4/4 beat patterns, tempos around 150-200 BPM, trance-inspired structures, acid-style basslines, and a more intense and synthesized production in general. ↯🎧° Notable producers that led to the development of freeform hardcore in the United Kingdom include Sharkey, the original coiner of the term, K-Complex, Digital Commandos, Kevin Energy, & Lost Soul. Internationally, some Japanese producers such as umbrella, Alabaster, DJ Noriken, Ark-Z, U-F SEQUENCER, and DJ Sharpnel have contributed to the 2000s freeform hardcore scenes. ✕ Freeform is NOT trancecore, hard trance, acid techno, mákina, or UK hardcore. ✕
