HD | Northern Army 北軍 #1077324374
Description
The Northern Army (Běi Jūn, 北軍) was the elite standing army of the Han Dynasty, primarily responsible for defending the capital region around Chang'an (and later Luoyang) and the imperial palace. Unlike regional armies raised for campaigns, the Northern Army was permanently stationed near the capital, directly under imperial command, and served as a counterweight to powerful generals and regional forces. It played a key role in palace security, suppressing rebellions, and maintaining dynastic stability.
