Description
One of the first, largest and currently active 1807-1813 Anhalt After Napoleon's victory over Europe in 1807, it was decided for all nations in the newly formed Rhine Confederation to provide a contingent of troops for the French army. Most nations however, couldn't muster more than a single regiment, so most forces were paired up with another nation's contingent to form a single regiment. The three Anhaltic duchies managed to raise around 800 men for Napoleon, and was paired up with a Lippe Battalion as the 5th ######### Infanterie Regiment. It's forces saw service in Tyrol, Spain and Russia alongside the German campaign in 1813. The Anhaltic duchies include: Anhalt-Dessau, Anhalt-Bernburg, Anhalt-Köthen. These duchies were paired up with the Principality of Lippe.
