Description
The 45th Infantry Division "Thunderbird" was an infantry unit of the 7th American Army. The division took part in the invasion of Sicily and the attack on Salerno; the 45th advanced through Italy, crushed resistance at Monte Cassino, landed in Southern France, and joined the drive towards Germany.
