Description
Site-17 Umbra is a classified Foundation facility established to contain, research, and monitor high-risk anomalous entities whose properties involve darkness, shadow manipulation, light suppression, and perceptual distortion. Unlike standard Foundation sites, Umbra operates under restricted illumination protocols, as several contained anomalies demonstrate heightened activity or destabilization when exposed to uncontrolled light sources. The facility’s architecture is designed to minimize visual exposure, relying heavily on adaptive lighting systems, reinforced observation chambers, and autonomous containment procedures. Following multiple containment incidents during early operational phases, Site-17 Umbra was reclassified as a High-Security Research and Containment Facility, with expanded Mobile Task Force presence and continuous surveillance across all internal sectors. Personnel assigned to Umbra undergo specialized psychological screening and training.
