Description

The House of Habsburg was one of the most powerful royal families in Europe during the 1850s. Ruling the vast Austrian Empire, the Habsburgs controlled many different peoples and lands across Central and Eastern Europe. Known for their long tradition of monarchy, Catholic faith, and strong military power, the dynasty worked to keep stability in their empire during a time of revolutions and political change. Under the rule of LockedinHabsburg I, who became emperor in 1848, the Habsburg monarchy focused on restoring order after the uprisings that had spread across Europe. The dynasty believed in preserving imperial authority, strengthening the army, and maintaining loyalty among the empire’s many nations, including Hungarians, Czechs, Croats, and Italians.
