Description
The Brigade, formed in 1807 was a elite formation of potato peelers and soup makers, they distinguished themselves during the battle of Raszyn and Grochów in 1809 where they made 2.000 litres of soup. During the invasion of Russia of 1812, the regiment was the main logistical unit of the Polish army. Having to leave most of their kettles behind at the battle of Berezina the unit had to be reformed for the 1813 campaign where they bravely cooked during the battle of Leipzig, in the last days of the battle, parts of the brigade charged forward with their garde's and spoons in hand, decisively holding of the coalition and letting the Grande Armee escape, however resulting in the almost complete destruction of the brigade during this brave final last stand The brigade consists of the following regiments: 1. Pułk Gwardya życia 5. Pułk Obieraczę Ziemniaków 3. Elitarna Eskadra Algerienne Ułani Gwardya Epique ''Rzygam na ciebie!''
