Description
The U.S. Army Special Forces were established in 1952. In 1961, President John F. Kennedy gave the elite unit the exclusive right to wear green berets. The unit falls under the United States Army Special Operations Command (Airborne). Its headquarters are at Fort Brag North Carolina. The Special Forces work closely with the CIA's Special Activities Division (SAD).
