O-M-O-N, is a swat unit, they operate by " Tactical Law, Enforcement Law, Control Domestic, Counter Terror, VIP Protection. Apart of the " Ministry of Internal Affairs " ============================ The nicknames they would give these furious men would be " Black Berets ". ============================= It was created the special forces of the " Soviet Militia—siya ", and then played major and sometimes leading roles in several armed conflicts during and following the dissolution of the Soviet Union. ============================= Today, O-M-O-N is much larger and better known than S-O-B-R another special police of Russian Interior Ministry, and is considered more of a riot police and gen-dar like paramilitary force. ============================ O-M-O-N continues to exist also in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and some other post-Soviet territories. However, some post-Soviet units have changed names. ============================
