Description
Anomalocaris (ah-NOM-ah-LAH-kariss), from the Greek meaning “unusual shrimp”, was a major predator of those ancient seas. This 'unusual shrimp' grew up to be 6 feet long Eye stalks with thousands of lenses gave Anomalocaris extremely sharp vision Anomalocaris would use it's front limbs equipped with sharp spikes to catch it's prey They are distantly related to modern arthropods such as lobsters and crabs Anomalocaris did not survive the Great Permian Extinction, which wiped out 90% of life on Earth at the end of the Cambrian. _________________________ This group is for Anomalocaris appreciators and fans of prehistoric life
