𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐬𝐡𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐤𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟖𝟕𝟒 - 𝟏𝟗𝟎𝟎 The Makhnovshchina was a movement in the Ukraine during the Russian Revolution and the subsequent Russian Civil War. It was led by the anarchist Nestor Makhno and aimed to establish a decentralized,society in the region. The Makhnovshchina government was based on direct democracy, with local councils and general assemblies making decisions for their communities. There was no centralized state apparatus, and the movement relied on voluntary cooperation and mutual aid. The Makhnovshchina and the Black Army represented an attempt to build a society based on anarchist principles in the midst of a brutal and chaotic civil war. While the movement was short-lived and ultimately defeated, it remains an important example of anarchist organizing and resistance in the context of revolution and civil war.
