🌸 Maritime Republic of Mizuho 🌸 Era: 1840s-1940s 📚 Summary The Maritime Republic of Mizuho is a mercantile and militarist power, born from the unification of Mizuho's home archipelago of Gunjou with the onset of industrialization and the forging of a national identity from its splintered island chain. Mizuho's Merchant Marine protects her territory and commercial interests on land and sea. While de-jure, a parliamentary republic, the nation entirely controlled by its long lived and ancient aristocratic families. Chancellor is a merely a title inherited by the head of the Mikami clan, ruling as the de-facto monarchs of Mizuho. Prime Minister is an appointed position determined by the Chancellor. Meanwhile, all aspects of religion are controlled by the Kashima and Amamiya. Similarly, trade and commerce is dominated by the Kana, running a large conglomerate of businesses and stifling foreign competition.
