A Divisão de Reconhecimento opera como uma divisão militar encarregada da exploração e recuperação do território humano da infestação de Titãs. Isso é feito principalmente com a instalação de pequenas bases, acampamentos, estações de reabastecimento e fortificações extras em áreas disponíveis fora das Muralhas. Este ramo das Forças Armadas tem, de longe, a maior taxa de mortalidade. Eles exploram a terra fora das muralhas, embora nunca possam ir muito longe devido às pesadas baixas sofridas pelos ataques dos Titãs.
