SYNOPSIS: By the late eighteenth century, France's once uncontested diplomatic immunity and reputation of refined cultural splendor had entered decay. Starkly divided amongst its social classes and ruled by an increasingly unpopular Sovereign, the France of The Sun King's day has all but disappeared, but in recent dire years everything has changed.
