Lore After the defeat in the first Anti-Qing Coallition war (1776-1778) it was made clear that the Qing were becoming weak and needed to modernise and industrialize quickly to secure its position and power,the Emperor started a huge periof of reforms in the Empire(Started in 1778): -Ended Isolation period and opened up trade -Started massive industrialization -Military reforms:the army had the be modern in case of another Western Invasion -The Qing was polically unified but not culturally united:the Imperial goverment had to build a sense of "Qingness" -Building a modern Navy (1788)These reforms ended up sucessful now The Qing Dynasty is in the rise of becoming a Great Power Join the Army Join our Communication server to apply.
