Description
Welcome to the Medemblik Hoorn Branch Line (MHBL)! This is a group run railway where you can experience how a Dutch branch line in the 1920s was run. Travel through the picturesque landscape with windmills, "stolp" farms, polders and ditches, and visit historic towns like Twisk, Medemblik and Wognum. This experience is based on the Stoomtram Hoorn Medemblik (SHM) heritage railway in its original state. Most of what you see has either been researched using historic documents, photos, drawings and old maps, or has been filled in with an educated guess. It's a mix of history and of what remains in the present day, completely transporting you 100 years back in time. The game is NOT finished, hence the place is closed and runs are infrequent.
