Philipp von der Lippes Grønne Fodregiment #11920666
Description
"Philipp Freiherr von der Lippe (called Hoen)'s Green Regiment of Foot" was raised in May 1625 by King Christian IV and given to Lippe, being one of the first mercenary regiments created for the conflict, being recruited in Jutland, Schleswig, Holstein, and Mecklenburg. It would first be camped between Weser and Aller, then being sent over Neustadt am Rubenberge to the area north of Leine towards Hanover. It seems however the reigment was not at its full desired strength by King Christian IV when it appeared in Brunswick, having been reduced to around 1500 men due to the department of subjects. So new recruitment was done in the aforementioned places, brining it back to 3000 men. The regiment would then enter the Altmark, taking Calbe Castle. After this the regiment would serve alongside Christian the Younger of Brunswick-Wolffenbutel.
