DOG COMPANY, TASK FORCE CHARLIE, 5TH RANGER BATALLION The 5th Ranger Battalion was formed in Camp Forrest, TN. They are mostly commonly known for their engagement in the Battle of Normandy, landing on Omaha Beach with the 2nd Ranger Battalion and 29th Infantry Division. They were disbanded at Camp Myles Standish, Massachusetts. The 5th Ranger Battalion was created as part of the provisional Ranger Assault Force, formed for the D-DAY landings in Normandy, France. The 5th Ranger Battalion had also engaged in the, Brittany Campaign, Irsch-Zerf Fight, Battle of the Bulge, and the Battle of Hurtgen Forest. Allied VALOR Unit Social Communications Required
