Not commonly known is that before their rebranding, they were one of the last remaining concentrations of Enclave personnel in New California after the oil rig's destruction. Rather than regrouping with the rest of the Enclave, it was decided they'd isolate themselves in a bunker as reserves incase of further catastrophe. In their isolation they slowly became paranoid and volatile, seemingly devolving into nothing but a barbaric warband. 38 years later, they emerged from their bunker and resumed the merciless indiscriminate cleansing of their country.
