Description
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission, started as the Imperial War Graves Commission in 1917 when the need to organise the graves of the dead of the Commonwealth fprces in the closing days of the first world war. Today the Commission maintains the graves and memorials for 1,700,000 men of the commonwealth nations who perished in service of their nation in 153 countries worldwide from plots of one headstone to cemeteries of thousands.
