■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ After the break-up of Austria-Hungary and the creation of the Czechoslovak Republic in October 1918, a new Czechoslovak army was formed. Although there were speculations that the army would be replaced by militia in the new state, this concept was abandoned and the new Czechoslovak government adopted virtually basic Austro-Hungarian military laws. Volunteer organizations were the first to be established, which mostly consisted of former Czech soldiers of the Austro-Hungarian army.
