𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐲 The Republic of China Army (ROCA), formerly known as the Chinese Nationalist Army or the National Revolutionary Army and informally known as the Taiwan Army, is the largest branch of the Republic of China's armed forces. It is estimated that 80 percent of the ROC troops are stationed in Taiwan, with the rest in Penghu, Kinmen, Matsu, Dongsha, and the Taiping Islands. Since the Chinese Civil War, there has never been an armistice or peace treaty signed, so as the last #### of defence against a possible invasion by the People's Liberation Army (PLA), the main focus is on defending and countering amphibious attacks and urban warfare.
