Description
The Second Portuguese Republic more commonly known among the people as the Estado Novo or "New State" was established in 1933 upon the formation of government under Antonio de Olivera S. of the National Union. The National Union was more of a "organization of national unity" between all Portuguese people. It brought together all people who supported the corporatist authoritarian dictatorship under the ideology of S.ism which promoted Portuguese nationalism, irredentism, religious corporatism, national/social conservatism, Lusitanian integralism, pluricontinentalism, and lusotropicalism.
