The Galactic Imperium, officially the First Galactic Imperium, commonly referred to as the Imperium, and remembered as the New Imperium Order, is an intergalactic nation formed in 19 BBY after the victory of the Galactic Republic against the Confederacy of Independent Systems and Chancellor Palpatine's arrest over attempts to overthrow the Republic. The Imperium emerges from a problematic government as Jedis feared of a new Sith-controlled regime slowly pacing its way. While maintaining a rather significant democratic basis, the Imperium is generally an authoritarian regime as vast majority of leaders are loyalists of the Jedi Order. Motto: Long live the Imperium!
