Syrakosioi Hoplitai "Swords of Athena" ₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪ The finest hoplites found in the island of Sicily, these men have been forged by decades of warfare against would-be conquerors of Syracuse. They have developed their skills in the hoplite phalanx in enemies such as the Spartans, Athenians, and mighty Carthaginians. Their notoriety as heavy infantry is renowned across the Ancient World. Their skill and cunning was tested at the Battle of the Himera River, where they defeated a numerically superior army from Carthage with minimal losses.
