Built and bled upon weary and ragged veterans of the War of 1870 and what was left of the "Blue Division", those who were fueled by hatred at the old and ill-stricken Napoleon the III, the French Marines rose from its knees at the beginning, making itself into the so-called "Elite forces" of the National Guard of France and returning to its former glory as it was in the War of 1870.
