The Border Guard (PS) was a Czechoslovak armed unit that was in charge of guarding and controlling the state border. It was established in accordance with the Act on the Protection of State Borders. Its organizational integration has changed several times, the longest falling under the Ministry of the Interior (most recently from 1972 until its abolition in 1990).
