Death Unit's origins were shrouded in mystery. Some whispered that they were a splinter faction of a once-great interstellar empire, disillusioned by the corruption and greed that had consumed their leaders. Others believed they were a coalition of brilliant minds who had grown disillusioned with the oppressive rule of the ruling technocratic council.
