Description

The Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) was established in 1871, after the restoration of the Japanese Emperor's power and the formation of the Meiji government. It played a vital role in the expansionist policies of the Japanese government in the early 20th century, including the Japanese invasion of Manchuria in 1931. The IJA was the primary military force used in the conquest of most of Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands during the Second Sino-Japanese War, which lasted throughout the 1930s. The current General of the Army is IMPERIALDEVELOPER66. At its peak, the IJA had a manpower strength of over 5 million personnel, making it one of the largest armies in the world during the war. Its structure was similar to most other modern militaries, with divisions, regiments, and battalions, as well as specialist units such as artillery, engineers, and transportation. The IJA also had a strong cavalry element, with units of horse-mounted infantry and support personnel.
