Description
The United Kingdom of the Netherlands is a grand battle group depicting the army of the united Low Countries during the post-Napoleonic settlement. For the Fatherland! 🌿 Voor het Vaderland! 🌿 Pour la Patrie ! 🌿 Voor de Koning! 🌿 Gloire au-dessus de tout ! 🌿 In 1815, after the fall of Napoleon, the Congress of Vienna created the United Kingdom of the Netherlands, uniting the former Dutch Republic with the Southern Netherlands and Liège under King William I of the House of Orange. This new kingdom—also known as Royaume des Belgiques or Royaume-Uni des Pays-Bas—served as a northern bulwark against future French expansion and a strategic counterweight in Europe. The united army drew strength from both northern Dutch and southern Belgian provinces, combining traditions, manpower, and resources to defend the Low Countries and preserve the balance of power on the continent.
