Description
The Byzantine army was the primary military body of the Byzantine armed forces, serving alongside the Byzantine navy. A direct continuation of the Romans shaping and developing itself on the legacy of the late Hellenistic armies, it maintained a similar level of discipline, strategic prowess, and organization. It was among the most effective armies of western Eurasia for much of the Middle Ages.

Growth
Growth history is still building. We hold one measurement for this entry. A trend needs at least two, taken days apart — so this will fill in on its own rather than being estimated. We do not publish numbers we have not measured.

Ownership
Owned by JackB0nes13 (@jackbjones1234) as measured.
Owner first observed: user #39976242 — observed between sweeps, detected 10 Aug 2026, 15:44 UTC
Detection dates bound when a change was seen by this register, not when it happened.
Groups seen changing owner — the largest ever handed over and the most recent — are on the ownership transfers board.
