The Democratic Republic of East Germany was the state that the Soviet Union or (Warsaw Pact) had as a state while the wealthy State of West Germany was freely available to be crossed into until the “Iron Curtain” fell between the wealthy west and the recovering East. when the Berlin and Iron wall withdrawal and while the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact fell apart.
