The unit specializes in various roles including hostage rescue, Counter-T ,unconventional warfare, special reconnaissance, foreign internal defense, counter-proliferation, counter-insurgency, seek and destroy and personnel recovery. Motto - "शत्रुजीत" War cry - "बलिदान पर्मा धर्मी"
