Description
After the Black Mesa Incident, a multidimensional alien empire called "The Combine" invaded Earth. This event was called the Seven Hour War and ended in the surrender of all humanity to the Combine. The Combine brutally repressed the surviving humans, forcing them into designated cities throughout Afro-Eurasia and setting up suppression fields to prevent children from being born. In the wake of the Combine occupation of Earth, ex-military personnel, first responders, regular civilians, and vortigaunts formed the Resistance to combat the Combine rule. The Resistance takes its symbol from Dr. Gordon Freeman, who worked at Black Mesa and saved hundreds of lives during the Black Mesa Incident. His HEV Suit bore the Lambda symbol, and he is considered a hero to all of humanity. The Resistance fights on in his name, defending civilians and combatting Combine forces, with the ultimate goal being the annihilation of all Combine occupiers and the reclamation of Earth.
