𝐅𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐔𝐌 𝐑𝐄𝐔𝐒𝐒 Principality of Reuss 𝟏𝟖𝟒𝟖 Founded in 1010 as the Imperial County of Reuss, the Principality is a small yet remarkable German state from the region of Thuringia. Hosting a prominent textile industry, the principality rose in the economic charts of the German states from the 19th century onwards, rapidly expanding and growing demographically. In 1848, after the liberal revolts, the Prince of Reuss-Greiz was chosen to rule as Emperor of the Germans. Following this event, the Elder and Younger line merged to unite the territories of both principalities, forming the Principality of Reuss.
