Description
The Ayuubid dynasty became the ruling Dynasty of Egypt established by Nasir Salah ah-Din ibn Ayyub, conqueror of Egypt, Syria, Jazira, Hejaz, Yemen, North Africa, and Nubia, victorious leader against the Crusader States in the levant. The Ayyubid Sultanate became the dominant Sunni political and military force, and the economic and cultural center of the region. Ushering in a new era of economic prosperity and leading to a resurgence of intellectual activity in the Islamic world.
