" The Imperial Senate " #13185321
Description
"The Imperial Senate" [ERA]: Galactic Civil War The Imperial Senate, also referred to as the Galactic Senate or the council, was the nominal legislative assembly of the Galactic Empire. Despite technically having considerable de jure power, it actually had little to no actual de facto power and was a rubber stamp legislature. The Imperial Senate was a de jure continuation of the Galactic Senate of the Old Republic, which was reformed into an autocratic regime when Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine declared himself Galactic Emperor. "Since my ascension, I have allowed a convenient fiction to persist—that the Empire is merely a continuation of the Republic. The Imperial Senate remains—an illusion of many voices coming together to govern. In truth, there is only one voice. Mine."
