Members of the British Transport Police may share these ranks despite being a seperate organisation! —- outdated information (this group was for ER:LC but now became part of the greater universe of UK —- ALL MEMBERS HERE CONSIDERED PART OF THE LOCAL POLICING GROUP AS LOCAL POLICING UNIT (LPU). About Met: It is free and instant to join as a PCSO (first rank) however, you are NOT allowed to wield a firearm or wear any other uniform except for PCSO’s (on the police team). Tazers are also prohibited. Shields are also prohibited as it’s unrealistic (for PCSOs). You may only carry a baton. To have access to more gear in RPs, you must become a constable (and join a specialised division for bigger guns such as the MO19, or TSG for shields). Exception for ER:LC is that ONLY Constables+ can carry a Tazer and a Handgun, and wield them appropriately. Constable is earned through training. Constables+ unlock opportunities to join other groups and units.
