𝕾𝖚𝖚𝖒 𝕮𝖚𝖎𝖖𝖚𝖊 The Royal Prussian Army of the Napoleonic Wars started off as one of the principal armies, fighting inside of France and along the Rhine in the war of the 1st coalition. They excelled in this style of warfare, but after peace was made with France the Prussians were allowed to rest on their laurels until Napoleon dared create a new German confederation, which was meddling in their turf. Prussia declared war ## ####### however they were routed at Jena and Auerstadt, with much of the army surrendering in the following months while those troops thus far unengaged fought alongside the Russians into 1807. After the war, Prussia lost much territory but great reformers such as Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, and Clausewitz began to modernize the army's appearance, structure, and size. Prussia would go on to be the key player in the 1813 war of German liberation and would provide the most troops to the Waterloo campaign.
