Description
The Montclar family dates back to 16th century France, when a duchy was granted for aiding the King of France, Henry IV. Throughout its history, the dukedom valued its many tenants and always attempted to keep them appeased, often helping the lower class when deemed necessary. This earned the family a reputation for ruling justly and fairly. As a result of this diplomacy, the 1789 revolutionaries allowed them to live, granted they seceded all land, power and nobility status. As a result of this, the house of Montclar became a smaller, honorary form of aristocracy that existed only as a name and a few estates. Relying on businesses for income, interests were focused on family vineyards, allowing the house to once again prosper in wealth.
