〔 Imperial Army 〕 〔 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 〕 The Imperial Army, also known as the Imperial Forces or Imperial ground forces, was the land-based branch of the Galactic Empire's military. The original forces of the Imperial Army were comprised of the clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic and local planetary defense forces. These units then became Imperial Army soldiers. Later on these units were gradually phased out in favor of the stormtroopers, the Empire's elite shock troops.
