Description
The Imperial Senate, also referred to as the Galactic Senate or the council, was the nominal legislative assembly of the Galactic Empire, which was in effect the continuation of the Galactic Senate of the Old Republic, which was reformed into an fascist autocratic regime when Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine declared himself Emperor. The Imperial Senate held de jure legislature powers, however in reality, it de facto served merely as an advisory body to Emperor.
