Description
𝐐𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐘 大清軍 📌𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 The 1880s ushered in multiple calamities across the Qing Dynasty. The dynasty stands relentless, but continues to suffer from years of internal turmoil and Western diplomacy. The Second Opium War, the Taiping Rebellion, and the impending threat of Western imperialism are all factors that consequently left the empire in disarray. Multiple governmental officials advocate for reform, calling for the resurgence of the antiquated Imperial Army. However, the old Imperial Army, still dependent on centuries-old styles of warfare and technology, is utterly incapable of defending China against foreign powers and handling internal rebellions. The 1880s and 90s see countless reforms in military and political affairs alike—China seeks to modernize its army by adopting Western techniques, technology, and strategy.
